Lemonade stand game

It cost me 14 cents to make one cup of lemonade! The variable in the game is the cost of the supplies and the weather. The constant was the cups because the cups were always there even though the price would change and they would never go bad. The perishables would be sugar or lemons because during the game you could get bugs in your sugar or have your lemons spoil.

20% Time Update on October

For our 20% time project we were not able to accomplish our October goal of building a prototype. Some of the problems we encountered were finding a way to build it cheap and fast. Also the kind of material we needed to make it out of. This is still something we are struggling with so we may have to go a different direction on finding a way to build the gun. Our goal for the end of November is still to have a prototype and be able to find a way to build a final product! One thing we could make it out of is  PVC pipe and it would be cost efficient and very easy to build.

Salary Post

My beginning income is $150,000. In Mexico we have to pay 2% on city tax in Mexico City and 2% on retirement. Based on my salary I have to pay 21% on federal income tax. Lastly I have to pay 6% on social security. After is all and said I have to pay around 32% on all my taxes. After doing the math I will make about $102,000 a year!

Portfolio Investment and Trade

My investment would be Johnson and Johnson. I chose JNJ because everybody is going to play baby's and will buy baby stuff. One way I can use it is when the months the people have the most baby's is to sell some shares. So when it goes down I will buy them back and the course will repeat. For my trade I did Microsoft. I did Microsoft because in a few weeks the xbox 1 is coming out so when it comes out I will sell Microsoft. Also since the Call of Duty is coming out so I will sell out once those come out.

Black Jack

I knew the basics of black jack but I did not know that there is so many different stratigies to play the game. I never knew you could double down to help your chances. The way I played was play big but obviously that was the wrong choice. In the end I ended up losing all my money on the last hand. So if I maybe would have played smarter I might have won a few more hands.

Difference between trade and an investment

The difference between a trade and an investment is that a trade is where you plan to make a profit on or in certain times. A example would be that you buy Hershey's before Halloween and sell the day or day after Halloween. So you buy a quick stock and for matter of months when you catalyst or event to make a profit happens then you sell it. An investment is where you buy a stock that you wish to hold for a long matter of time to continuously make a profit over time. An example would be buying Johnson and Johnson. Since people have babies all the time and will need it for a long time you would constantly make money over time. So around the time people have the least amount of babies you would want to buy a lot of stocks and when they are high you can sell stocks to make more money. A good way to short sale would be if you know a stock is either going to bust or boom is to buy a few stocks of the stock and after it booms and bust sell the short stocks back to make a quick buck!

Candy Stock Market

We were told that we would go into a dark room and that we will have to pick up candy. We all stood in line and when Mr Kapptie said go we stormed into the dark room and saw candy spread out all over the table and floor. I went for all the candy I could get on the table farthest of the front door and got all the candy. Then I went to the floor under the table tans grabbed a bunch of Monopoly money and a few pieces of candy. The whole time there was flashing lights and very loud. In a matter of minutes everyone had all the candy and we were watching the market go up and down. Next we would go around trading candy and cash and watching the market go up and down. Finally I saw Zach with a lot of twirlers so I decided to merge with him because the twizzlers were doing very well and I had tootsies pops that I knew would do awesome! So towards the end of the market we had the two best candies but no cash. Come to find out that was the deciding factor for us. So we lost to a group that had over 7000 dollars! It was a blast and I think I would not mind being in that kind of atmosphere.

20% Time Project

My partner is Zach Thompson and we are building a gun that pretty much can shoot anything. We have researched what it takes to make a gun that is powered by Co2. Some struggles we have come in contact with is what kind of material to make the gun and how it can withstand the pressure of the co2. Also how we can shoot different kinds of materials with the same exact gun. By the end of October we would like to have a prototype ready to shoot!

My Future

My future plans after high school is go to basic training and go to a four college where I can run track and field. The colleges I'm looking at are University of Mary, Valley City State, and Dakota Wesleyan. The job I would like to have is either a Sports Recruiter for a college or General  Manager for a sports team. A yearly salary for an agent is 100,000 a year on a low end and up towards 1,000,000. For a car I would like is a 2000 4runner that cost around 4,900-7500. I would like to live towards the east coast because their is a lot of sports teams and colleges are everywhere.
